DICLO BETA SCHMERZGEL is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory gel containing the active ingredient diclofenac sodium. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of pain, including acute injuries such as strains, sprains and bruises, especially those associated with sports and accidental injuries. It can also be used for pain in the soft tissues near the joints in osteoarthritis of the knee and finger joints, epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and acute muscle pain in the back. Diclo beta Schmerzgel is recommended for adolescents over 14 years of age for the short-term treatment of pain in acute bruises, strains or sprains after blunt trauma. Pregnant women should only use the gel in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy after consulting a doctor and should not use it in the last trimester of pregnancy as this may cause complications. The gel should be applied thinly to the affected area of the body and worked in gently. It can be used up to 4 times a day, with a maximum daily dose of 16 g. The gel should not be applied to open injuries, inflamed or infected areas of the skin, or to eczema or mucous membranes. Use should be discontinued if symptoms do not improve or worsen after 3-5 days. Side effects are possible, including rash, itching, scaling and oedema.
