Directions for use of the article Azedil 1 mg/ml Nasal Spray Solution: Azedil is a nasal spray containing the active substance azelastine hydrochloride. It belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. Azedil is used for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever) in adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years and over. It prevents the effects of substances produced by the body in connection with an allergic reaction and reduces inflammation in the nose. The recommended dose is 1 spray of Azedil per nostril twice a day (morning and evening). Azedil should not be used in children under 6 years of age. There is insufficient experience in patients with liver or kidney damage. Azedil should be applied with the head in an upright position. Before the first application, pump several times until a uniform spray comes out. One spray per nostril should be inhaled. The duration of use of Azedil depends on the type, severity and course of the symptoms. Azedil can be used for long-term treatment. If you have used a larger amount than prescribed, poisoning is not to be expected. However, in the event of an overdose, the symptoms should be treated. If you have forgotten to use it, continue the therapy at the next scheduled time. Do not discontinue use without medical advice as the typical symptoms of your condition may soon return. Azedil should be kept out of reach of children. Azedil should not be used for longer than 6 months after the bottle has been opened. The most common side effects of Azedil are irritation of the nose, such as burning mucous membranes, tingling, sneezing and nosebleeds, and taste disturbances. Azedil contains the active substance azelastine hydrochloride in a concentration of 1 mg/ml. The other ingredients are sodium edetate, hypromellose 4000, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, citric acid, sodium chloride and purified water.
