Ciclopirox beta 80mg/g is a nail polish containing active ingredients that is used to treat fungal nail infections, also known as onychomycoses.The active ingredient ciclopirox belongs to the group of antifungals and penetrates the nail plate to exert an antifungal effect on the most common pathogens of nail fungus.This product is available without a prescription.

Area of application

Nail fungus can lead to severe changes in the nail structure and discoloration.Affected nails are particularly visible in summer, when open shoes or walking barefoot are preferred.Nail fungus occurs more often on the toenails than on the fingernails because the warm, humid climate in shoes promotes fungal growth and small injuries, for example caused by tight shoes, make it easier for fungi to penetrate.

The nail polish contains 80 mg of ciclopirox per gram as the active ingredient.Excipients include ethyl acetate, isopropyl alcohol and poly(butyl hydrogen maleate-co-methoxyethylene).

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to Ciclopirox or any of the other ingredients.It is not suitable for children as there is insufficient experience in this age group.The product should also not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Dosage

Apply a thin layer of nail polish to the affected nail once daily.Before the first application, affected parts of the nail should be removed with scissors and heavily callused areas should be removed with a disposable nail file.During treatment, you should remove the varnish layer once a week with an alcohol swab and file off calloused material again.The duration of treatment should not exceed six months.
