Instructions for use for Refluthin for heartburn chewable tablets fruit flavour. Refluthin® chewable tablets are a medicinal product for the fast and lasting relief of heartburn and acid-related stomach complaints. They contain a unique combination of mineral acid buffers (calcium and magnesium carbonate) and highly concentrated plant-based protective substances from the prickly pear. The chewable tablets work simultaneously to quickly neutralise excess stomach acid and put a soothing protective film on the mucous membrane of the oesophagus and stomach. This quickly relieves symptoms such as heartburn and acid regurgitation. Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over can take one chewable tablet at the first sign of discomfort. If necessary, the tablets can be taken up to 4 times a day. The chewable tablets are best taken one hour after meals and can be sucked or chewed. It is recommended not to use Refluthin® chewable tablets for more than 14 days without interruption and not to take more than 4 tablets per day. Excessive intake of calcium, especially in a calcium-rich diet, should be avoided. If a thiazide diuretic is taken prior to the use of Refluthin® Chewable Tablets, a doctor should be consulted. Refluthin® chewable tablets should not be used in case of hypersensitivity or allergy to one or more ingredients, hereditary fructose intolerance, kidney problems, high blood or urine calcium concentrations and low blood phosphate levels. The chewable tablets do not contain preservatives, artificial colours, gluten or lactose. People with diabetes should note that one chewable tablet contains up to 0.56 g of sorbitol and may have a laxative effect if consumed in excess. Refluthin® chewable tablets should be kept in a cool, dry place away from heat and light. They should be kept out of the reach of children. The expiry date on the packaging and the press-through packaging refers to the product properly stored. The composition of a Refluthin® chewable tablet includes 450 mg calcium carbonate, 50 mg magnesium carbonate, 75 mg prickly pear extract, as well as sorbitol, maize starch, maltodextrin, passion fruit flavouring and magnesium stearate. Refluthin® chewable tablets may interact with orally administered medicines, so they should be taken 1-2 hours apart from these medicines and the doctor should be informed. In case of prolonged symptoms, a doctor should be consulted. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor or pharmacist before use.
