Chlorhexamed oral gel 10mg/g gel, with chlorhexidine
Chlorhexamed Mundgel 10mg/g gel, with chlorhexidine is used for temporary supportive therapy for bacterial inflammation of the gums (gingivitis) and inflammation of the oral mucosa.It is also suitable for supporting the healing phase after periodontal surgery.The practical applicator enables targeted treatment of inflamed gum areas.The gel fights bacteria that cause inflammation, thus helping to relieve gum inflammation.

Mode of action
Bacteria are the main component of dental plaque and in most cases cause gum inflammation.Chlorhexamed oral gel has an antibacterial effect and supports the treatment of bacterial gum inflammation.The special application tip enables targeted application even in smaller areas of the oral cavity.The gel can be applied directly to inflamed gums.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
The active ingredient in Chlorhexamed oral gel is chlorhexidine bis (D-gluconate).One gram of gel contains 10 milligrams of chlorhexidine bis (D-gluconate).Other ingredients include 2-propanol (Ph. Eur.), hyprolose, sodium acetate, macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate (Ph. Eur.), purified water, levomenthol and peppermint oil.
Contraindications
If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.
Dosage
Adults and children aged 12 and over can use the gel once or twice a day.The amount depends on the extent of the inflammation.Before use, your teeth should be brushed and your mouth rinsed thoroughly with water.Using the applicator, a sufficient amount of gel is applied directly to the inflamed areas and left to act for about a minute.The gel should then be spit out but not swallowed.
Treatment should not be carried out for longer than a month.If the inflammation does not improve, a doctor or dentist should be consulted.Longer use should only be carried out after consulting a doctor or dentist.Children between 6 and 12 years of age should only use the gel if directed by a doctor.The gel must not be used in children under 6 years of age.
Intake
The gel is intended exclusively for use in the oral cavity.Before use, your teeth should be brushed with a commercially available toothpaste and the oral cavity should be rinsed thoroughly with water.The applicator should not be used if it is damaged.For hygiene reasons, each patient should use their own applicator.After use, a small amount of gel should be squeezed out of the tube to prevent contamination.The applicator should be wiped with an absorbent paper towel and the cap replaced.
Without an applicator, the gel can be applied with a cotton swab or a moistened toothbrush.The reaction time is about one minute, after which the gel should be spit out.The toothbrush must then be rinsed thoroughly with water.
Patient information
The gel should not be swallowed.If you come into contact with your eyes or ears, they should be rinsed thoroughly with water.If you experience a rash, swelling or difficulty breathing, use should be stopped immediately and medical attention sought.If you feel sore or irritated, use should be stopped and a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.At the start of treatment you may experience taste disturbances, numbness or burning, which usually disappear.Temporary discoloration of the tongue, teeth, or dentures may occur and can be removed by brushing or professional dental cleaning.
There are no known impairments to the ability to drive or use machines.
Pregnancy
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using the gel.There is no sufficient experience or research on the safety of using chlorhexidine during pregnancy and breastfeeding.Therefore it should only be used with particular caution.
Notes
The product contains macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate (Ph. Eur.), levomenthol and peppermint oil.

The antibacterial active ingredient chlorhexidine bis (D-gluconate), abbreviated chlorhexidine, is a well-researched antibacterial active ingredient that is often used in the oral cavity.Chlorhexidine has a killing, defensive and persistent effect by killing bacteria, reducing bacterial adhesion and protecting teeth from excessive plaque formation for up to 12 hours.
Application
Chlorhexamed® FLUID 0.1% should be used exactly as described in the package insert or follow the dentist's recommendations.Adults and children aged 12 and over should rinse the oral cavity thoroughly with 15 ml of the solution for one minute twice a day, preferably in the morning and evening after meals and brushing their teeth, and then spit out the medicine.It should not be rinsed with water and swallowing should be avoided.Children between 6 and 12 years of age should only use the product after consulting a doctor or pharmacist.It must not be used in children under 6 years of age.
Notes
Chlorhexamed® FLUID 0.1% contains 7.2% alcohol by volume.If the dosage instructions are followed, up to 0.85 g of alcohol is added per 15 ml each time.A health risk exists, among others, for people with liver disease, alcoholics, epileptics, patients with organic brain diseases, pregnant women, breastfeeding women and children.The effect of other medicines may be impaired or increased.
Chlorhexamed® FLUID 0.1% contains macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate (Ph. Eur.), which can cause skin irritation.It also contains Ponceau 4R (E 124), levomenthol and cinnamon oil.The product must not be used in children under 6 years of age and should not be used after the expiry date stated on the package.
Ingredients
100 ml of solution contains 0.1 g of chlorhexidine bis(D-gluconate).Other ingredients are ethanol 96%, glycerol, macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate (Ph. Eur.), anethole, clove oil, levomenthol, cinnamon oil, Ponceau 4R (E 124) and purified water.
