ASS 100 Acetylsalicylic acid is an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory medicine. It is used to treat mild to moderately severe pain and fever. The medicine should only be used in children and adolescents with febrile illnesses on the doctor's instructions and if other measures do not work. It should not be taken over a long period of time or in higher doses without medical advice. The recommended dosage varies according to age, but the total dose should not be exceeded. The medicine should be taken after a meal with sufficient liquid. The duration of use is usually no longer than 3 to 4 days. Special precautions should be taken in case of certain pre-existing conditions, allergies or pregnancy. Side effects such as gastrointestinal complaints may occur; dizziness, nausea and headaches are possible in case of overdose. The medicine should be protected from heat and stored in the dark. It contains the active substance acetylsalicylic acid and other excipients. The medicine is not suitable for people who are hypersensitive to acetylsalicylic acid or other salicylates, have certain gastrointestinal disorders, suffer from an increased tendency to bleed or have severe heart or kidney dysfunction.
