Description

The preparation is a painkiller, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/analgesics.It is used for mild to moderate pain and fever.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each tablet contains 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid as the active ingredient.The other ingredients include cellulose powder, croscarmellose sodium, glycine, pre-gelatinized corn starch and talc as excipients.

Area of application

The medicine is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever.It is important to note that the medicine should only be taken in children and adolescents with febrile illnesses on the advice of a doctor and only if other measures do not work.This is due to the possible risk of Reye's syndrome occurring.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose is 1/2 to 1 tablet for children between 1/2 to 1 year old, 1 tablet for children between 1 to 3 years old and 2 tablets for children between 4 to 6 years old.The single dose can be taken up to 3 times daily at intervals of 4 to 8 hours if necessary.The maximum daily dose is usually 3000 mg in adults.

For older children and adults, the use of dosage forms with a higher active ingredient content is recommended.If you have liver or kidney dysfunction, the daily dose must be reduced or the interval between doses must be extended.

Do not take the medicine for pain or fever for more than 3 to 4 days without medical or dental advice.If you have used more than you should, please contact your doctor immediately.If you forget to take it, do not take a double dose next time, but continue taking it as described.Do not stop taking it without consulting your doctor.

Intake

Take the tablets whole, if possible after a meal, with plenty of liquid.Do not take the tablets on an empty stomach.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine if you are hypersensitive to other anti-inflammatory drugs or allergies, bronchial asthma, hay fever, swollen nasal mucous membranes, chronic respiratory diseases or if you are also taking anticoagulant medicines.You should also consult before taking if you have impaired liver or kidney function, chronic stomach or duodenal problems, uncontrolled hypertension, diabetes mellitus or if you are taking diuretics.

Acetylsalicylic acid may increase the risk of kidney dysfunction and acute kidney failure.In patients with severe glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, acetylsalicylic acid may induce hemolysis or hemolytic anemia.

Simultaneous use of acetylsalicylic acid with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should be avoided.Older patients are more likely to experience side effects, particularly bleeding in the stomach and intestines, which can be life-threatening.

Side effects can be reduced by using the lowest dose for the shortest period of time necessary to control symptoms.If painkillers are taken long-term, headaches can occur, which can lead to repeated use and thus cause the headache to continue.Habitual use of painkillers can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.

In low doses, acetylsalicylic acid reduces uric acid excretion.In patients who already tend to excrete less uric acid, this can potentially trigger a gout attack.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Low doses (less than 100 mg/d) appear to be safe for limited obstetric use under specialized supervision.At doses above 100 mg/d, inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis may adversely affect pregnancy and/or embryonic/fetal development.The active ingredient must not be given during the 1st and 2nd trimester of pregnancy unless clearly necessary.Acetylsalicylic acid is contraindicated during the 3rd trimester of pregnancy.

Acetylsalicylic acid and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities.There are currently no known adverse effects on infants.Therefore, if the recommended dose is used occasionally, breast-feeding does not need to be interrupted.However, if you use it for a long time or take higher doses, you should stop breastfeeding.

Notes

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack or packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.

The medicine has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.Nevertheless, caution should always be exercised after taking painkillers.
