Area of application

The tablets are an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and analgesics.They are used for mild to moderate pain and fever.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

Each tablet contains 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid as the active ingredient.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: cellulose powder, croscarmellose sodium, glycine, pre-gelatinized corn starch and talc.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to acetylsalicylic acid, other salicylates or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also contraindicated in asthma attacks triggered by salicylates or similar substances.Further contraindications include a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, acute gastrointestinal ulcers, existing or recurring stomach and duodenal ulcers, pathological increased bleeding tendency, blood clotting disorders, liver and kidney failure, severe heart muscle weakness, simultaneous intake of 15 mg or more methotrexate per week and the last three months of pregnancy.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose is half to one tablet for children between six months and one year old, one tablet for children between one and three years old and two tablets for children between four and six years old.If necessary, the single dose can be taken up to three times daily at intervals of four to eight hours.The maximum daily dose for adults is usually 3000 mg.If you have liver or kidney dysfunction, the daily dose should be reduced or the interval between doses should be extended.Do not take the medicine for pain or fever for more than three to four days without medical advice.

No prescription is required for this product.

Intake

Take the tablets whole, if possible after a meal, with plenty of liquid.Avoid taking on an empty stomach.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine if you are hypersensitive to other anti-inflammatory drugs or allergies, suffer from bronchial asthma, hay fever, swollen nasal mucous membranes, chronic respiratory diseases or are taking anticoagulant medicines at the same time.If you have impaired liver or kidney function, chronic stomach or duodenal problems, uncontrolled hypertension, diabetes mellitus or are taking diuretics, you should also consult before taking it.Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist that you are taking this medicine.

Avoid concurrent use of acetylsalicylic acid with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.Older patients may experience increased gastrointestinal side effects.Discontinue treatment if bleeding or ulceration of the gastrointestinal tract occurs.

Side effects can be reduced by using the lowest dose for the shortest period of time necessary to control symptoms.If painkillers are taken long-term, headaches can occur, which can lead to repeated use and thus cause the headache to continue.Habitual use of painkillers can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.In low doses, acetylsalicylic acid reduces uric acid excretion and can trigger a gout attack in patients who are already prone to low uric acid excretion.

The medicine should only be taken by children and adolescents with feverish illnesses on medical advice and only if other measures do not work.Prolonged vomiting can be a sign of Reye's syndrome, a very rare but life-threatening disease that requires immediate medical attention.

The medicine has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.Nevertheless, caution should always be exercised after taking painkillers.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Low doses of acetylsalicylic acid appear to be safe for limited obstetric use under specialized supervision. At higher doses, inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis may adversely affect pregnancy and/or embryonic/fetal development.Taking inhibitors of prostaglandin synthesis in early pregnancy may lead to an increased risk of miscarriage and malformations.The active ingredient must not be given during the first and second trimesters of pregnancy unless clearly necessary.Acetylsalicylic acid is contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy.

Acetylsalicylic acid and its breakdown products pass into breast milk in small quantities.There are currently no known adverse effects on infants.Therefore, if the recommended dose is used occasionally, breast-feeding does not need to be interrupted.However, if you use it for a long time or take higher doses, you should stop breastfeeding.

There is evidence that inhibitors of cyclooxygenase/prostaglandin synthesis may impair female fertility through an effect on ovulation.This effect is reversible after discontinuation of treatment.
