The active ingredient of this preparation is acetylsalicylic acid in a dosage of 500 mg per tablet.In addition, it contains the following excipients: carboxymethyl starch, sodium salt type A, lactose 1-water, sodium dodecyl sulfate, silicon dioxide and stearic acid.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid, other salicylates or any of the other ingredients.It should also not be used if you are hypersensitive to certain painkillers or anti-inflammatory drugs, if you have acute stomach and intestinal ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding or if you have a pathologically increased tendency to bleed.It is also contraindicated in liver and kidney failure, severe heart muscle weakness and when taking 15 mg or more methotrexate per week at the same time.The drug must also not be taken in the last three months of pregnancy.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose for children between 6 and 14 years is half to one tablet per single dose, with a total daily dose of one and a half to three tablets.Adolescents and adults can take one to two tablets per single dose, with a total daily dose of three to six tablets.The single dose can be taken every four to eight hours up to three times daily if necessary.If you have liver or kidney dysfunction, the dose should be reduced or the interval between doses should be extended.Do not take this medicine for more than four days without medical or dental advice.

Intake

The medicine is intended to be taken orally.Take the tablets whole with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water, and not on an empty stomach.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the preparation if you are also taking other medicines containing acetylsalicylic acid or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.The product should also be used with caution if you are hypersensitive to certain painkillers, have allergies, asthma, hay fever or chronic respiratory diseases.The same applies to simultaneous treatment with anticoagulant drugs, to a history of stomach or intestinal ulcers, to impaired liver or kidney function, and to uncontrolled hypertension or diabetes mellitus.There may be increased bleeding before and after operations.In patients with severe glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, acetylsalicylic acid can cause an accelerated breakdown of red blood cells.

If painkillers are taken long-term, headaches can occur, which can lead to repeated use and thus cause the headache to continue.Habitual use of painkillers can lead to permanent kidney damage.In low doses, acetylsalicylic acid can reduce uric acid excretion and trigger a gout attack in patients at risk.The drug can impair fertility in women, but this effect is reversible after discontinuation of the drug.

In children and adolescents with feverish illnesses, the medicine should only be used on medical advice.Prolonged vomiting may be a sign of Reye's syndrome, a very rare but life-threatening disease that requires immediate medical attention.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.You should not take the medicine in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy.Acetylsalicylic acid should not be taken in the last three months of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.During breastfeeding, small amounts of the active ingredient and its breakdown products pass into breast milk.If the recommended dose is used occasionally, breast-feeding does not need to be interrupted. However, if you use it for a long time or take high doses, you should stop breastfeeding.

The drug can impair fertility in women, but this effect is reversible after discontinuation of the drug.
