HydroGalen® acute - first aid for eczema

HydroGalen acute 5 mg/g cream is an anti-inflammatory cream for use on the skin.It offers immediate help for itchy, red and inflamed skin.The cream with hydrocortisone is used to treat sunburn, sun allergy, Mallorca acne, insect bites, severe itching and allergic rash.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

HydroGalen acute 5 mg/g cream is used for short-term use (maximum two weeks) in moderately severe inflammatory, allergic or itchy skin diseases that respond to external therapy with weakly effective corticosteroids.

100 g HydroGalen acute 5 mg/g cream contains: Active ingredient: 0.5 g hydrocortisone.Other ingredients: benzyl alcohol, cetostearyl alcohol (vegetable), citric acid (E 330), dimeticone (350), glycerol monostearate, sodium citrate (E 331), sodium edetate (Ph.Eur.), macrogol-20-glycerol monostearate, propylene glycol, medium-chain triglycerides, white petroleum jelly, purified water.

Contraindications

HydroGalen acute 5 mg/g must not be used if you are allergic to hydrocortisone, benzyl alcohol or any of the other ingredients.The cream should also not be used for virus-related skin diseases such as herpes, shingles or chickenpox, specific skin processes such as skin tuberculosis or syphilis, skin reactions after vaccinations, inflammatory skin symptoms around the mouth, acne and rosacea, fungal infections and bacterial skin infections, under airtight bandages, in skin folds, on the eye or eyelid and in the first trimester of pregnancy.

Dosage

Apply HydroGalen acute 5 mg/g cream thinly to the affected skin areas once or twice a day.Avoid large area application and do not use the cream for longer than 2 weeks.For eczema-like diseases, treatment should be continued for a while after improvement to avoid relapses.Children up to the age of 6 may only be treated as prescribed by a doctor.The treated area should not be more than 10% of the body surface.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the cream.The skin in the facial area is particularly sensitive, so the cream should be used there with caution.Simultaneous use in the genital or anal area and latex products may result in a reduction in the functionality of these products.If you experience blurred vision or other vision problems, contact your doctor.Children under 6 years of age may only use the medicine as prescribed by a doctor.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.The preparation must not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy.During the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, the cream should only be used after consulting your doctor.The active ingredient passes into breast milk, so breastfeeding should be stopped during long-term treatment or when higher doses are used.Avoid contact of the infant with the treated skin areas.

Notes

Contains cetostearyl alcohol and propylene glycol.Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
