Levocetirizine ADGC 5 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient levocetirizine dihydrochloride.This medication is used for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis, including persistent allergic rhinitis, and urticaria in adults, adolescents, and children 6 years of age and older.No prescription is required for this product.It contains lactose, which may be important for people with lactose intolerance.
Areas of application
Levocetirizine ADGC 5 mg film-coated tablets are used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis and hives.The tablets are suitable for adults, teenagers and children aged 6 and over.They help relieve stuffy or tingling nose, itching, runny nose, red or watery eyes and skin reactions associated with hives.
Mode of action
The active ingredient levocetirizine blocks the receptor of the messenger histamine, which is responsible for itching and swelling.Levocetirizine prevents the development of typical allergy symptoms and can relieve them quickly and effectively.Levocetirizine suppresses the effects of the body's own substances histamine and prostaglandins by inhibiting the release of these substances from the mast cells and displacing them from their binding sites.
Composition
The film-coated tablets contain 5 mg levocetirizine dihydrochloride and 4.21 mg levocetirizine as active ingredients.The excipients include cellulose, microcrystalline, crospovidone, lactose-1-water, 60.3 mg lactose, magnesium stearate (vegetable), Opadry white 03 B 28796, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, macrogol 400 and silicon dioxide, highly disperse.
Dosage and application
Adults, teenagers and children aged 6 and over take 1 tablet daily without chewing and with plenty of water.It can be taken regardless of meals.Do not take the tablets for longer than three days without consulting a doctor.If symptoms do not improve or worsen, you should see a doctor.Also discuss the use with your doctor if you suffer from impaired kidney function, are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Contraindications
Levocetirizine ADGC 5 mg film-coated tablets must not be taken if you are allergic to levocetirizine dihydrochloride, cetirizine, hydroxyzine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.The medication should also not be used if you have severely impaired kidney function (severe kidney failure with a creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min).
Side effects
Possible side effects in adolescents aged 12 and over and adults include headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, tiredness, fatigue and stomach pain.Children and adolescents may also experience diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, drowsiness, difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep, and headaches.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
