Areas of application
Levocetirizine ADGC 5 mg film-coated tablets are used for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis, including persistent allergic rhinitis, and urticaria in adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years and over.The tablets help with stuffy, tingling nose, itching, runny nose, red or watery eyes and can alleviate skin reactions associated with hives.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The film-coated tablets contain the active ingredients levocetirizine dihydrochloride (5 mg) and levocetirizine (4.21 mg).The excipients include microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, lactose-1-water, lactose (60.3 mg), colloidal silicon dioxide, vegetable magnesium stearate, Opadry white 03 B 28796, hypromellose, titanium dioxide and macrogol 400.
Mode of action
The active ingredient levocetirizine blocks the receptor of the messenger histamine, which is responsible for itching and swelling.As a result, the active ingredient prevents the development of typical allergy symptoms and can relieve them quickly and effectively.Levocetirizine inhibits the release of histamine and prostaglandins from the mast cells and displaces them from their binding sites.
Dosage and application
Adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years and over take 1 film-coated tablet daily without chewing and with plenty of water.It can be taken regardless of meals.The tablets should not be taken for longer than three days without consulting a doctor.If you have impaired kidney function, are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should discuss taking it with a doctor.
Contraindications
Levocetirizine ADGC 5 mg film-coated tablets must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients or if you have severely impaired kidney function.Children under 6 years of age should not use the tablets.Pregnant and breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before taking.
Side effects
Possible side effects in adolescents aged 12 and over and adults include headache, drowsiness, dry mouth, tiredness, fatigue and stomach pain.Children and adolescents may also experience diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, and difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep.If you experience any discomfort or changes during treatment, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist.
