Hydrocortisone STADA® 5 mg/g cream is an agent for the treatment of inflammatory, allergic and itchy skin diseases with minor symptoms.It is suitable for use in children aged 6 years and over and adults.The active ingredient hydrocortisone helps relieve itching and inflammation.

Itchy skin can not only be painful, but also very stressful.The constant itching can have a significant impact on the lives of those affected, both in everyday life as well as when sleeping and at work.Common causes of itchy skin include sunburn, insect bites and dry skin.

Hydrocortisone STADA® 5 mg/g cream offers quick and effective relief from itchy skin.It should be used once or twice daily for short periods of time to relieve itching and soothe the skin.

Hydrocortisone STADA® 5 mg/g cream contains the active ingredient hydrocortisone.1 gram of cream contains 5 milligrams of hydrocortisone.The other ingredients are stearic acid (vegetable), propylene glycol, sorbitan stearate, polysorbate 60, octyldodecanol, hard fat and purified water.

Area of application

The cream is used to treat inflammatory, allergic and itchy skin diseases with minor symptoms.It is intended for short-term use on the skin, up to a maximum of two weeks.The cream should be applied thinly to the affected areas two to three times a day and rubbed in gently.After improvement, use can be reduced to once daily or every second or third day.

It is important not to use the cream for more than two weeks without medical advice.When using it on the face, care should be taken to ensure that the cream does not get into the eyes.

Contraindications

The cream must not be used if you are allergic to hydrocortisone or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also not permitted in the case of chickenpox, vaccination reactions, syphilitic or tuberculous skin diseases, simultaneous skin infections caused by bacteria or fungi, certain skin inflammations in the area of the mouth or face and during the first trimester of pregnancy.The cream must not be used on or in the eyes.

Dosage

Hydrocortisone STADA® 5 mg/g cream is applied thinly to the affected areas two to three times a day and rubbed in gently.Once improvement has occurred, one application per day or every two to three days is usually enough.Even after the symptoms have subsided, the cream should be used for a few days to avoid a recurrence of the disease.

The cream is intended for short-term use on the skin, up to a maximum of two weeks.Longer use should only take place under medical supervision.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the cream.If you experience blurred vision or other vision problems, contact your doctor.Children up to the age of 6 may only be treated as prescribed by a doctor.In babies under 4 weeks of age with open wounds or extensive skin injuries, the medicine should not be used without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

No special precautions are required regarding the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

The cream must not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy.In later stages of pregnancy, use should only be carried out after a careful risk-benefit assessment by the treating doctor.Large-area or long-term applications and occlusive dressings should be avoided.

The active ingredient contained in the cream passes into breast milk. If you use it over a large area or for a longer period of time, you should stop breastfeeding.Contact of the infant with the treated skin areas should be avoided.
