Area of application

The chewable tablets are intended for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux.They help relieve symptoms such as heartburn, acid reflux, indigestion and nighttime reflux symptoms.The tablets can also be used for heartburn during pregnancy, reflux esophagitis, coughs and inflammation of the larynx and throat.

Mode of action

The chewable tablets are based on sodium alginate and carbonates.Once they come into contact with stomach acid, sodium alginate, a natural polymer made from brown algae, forms a gel.The carbonates release carbon dioxide, causing the gel to float and form a protective layer.This protective layer prevents gastric juice from flowing back into the esophagus.Bicarbonate also reduces acidity in the stomach.The special composition protects the esophageal mucosa and promotes regeneration, which reduces the risk of recurrent reflux esophagitis.The balanced mixture of sodium alginate and carbonates ensures a quick effect.

The chewable tablets contain sodium alginate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, calcium carbonate, sorbitol, vegetable magnesium stearate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, flavor, silicon dioxide, sucralose and steviol glycosides.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.

Dosage

Adults and children over 12 years old can take 2 or 4 tablets after meals and at bedtime.The tablets must be chewed thoroughly.After ingestion you can rinse with water.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the outer carton.The product should not be taken if you have severe kidney failure.If you are hypersensitive to the components of the medical product, it must not be taken.If side effects occur, treatment must be stopped and a doctor consulted.The product may interfere with the absorption of oral medications.There should be an interval of 2 hours between taking the product and taking any medicine.If the symptoms do not improve after 7 days of treatment, you should consult a doctor.The product can cause flatulence, but using it as directed will reduce the likelihood of it occurring.A single dose (corresponding to 2 tablets of 1 gram each) contains around 100 mg sodium and around 36 mg calcium.If you have a low-salt diet, for example if you have high blood pressure, impaired heart, kidney or liver function or if you have hypercalcaemia, nephrocalcinosis or recurrent calcium-containing kidney stones, you should consult a doctor.
