Doppelherz active heartburn acute + protect chewable tablets are specially developed for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux and to relieve the associated symptoms such as heartburn, acid reflux, indigestion and nocturnal reflux symptoms.The product is also suitable for the treatment of heartburn during pregnancy, reflux esophagitis, cough and inflammation of the larynx and throat.

Mechanism of action

Doppelherz active heartburn acute + protect is based on sodium alginate and carbonates.Its effectiveness can be explained by a physical mechanism of action.Once it comes into contact with the acidic pH conditions in the stomach, sodium alginate, a natural polymer derived from brown algae, forms a gel.At the same time, the carbonates release carbon dioxide, which allows the gel to float and a protective layer to be formed.This protective layer acts as a physical barrier and prevents gastric juice from flowing back into the esophagus.Bicarbonate also helps reduce stomach acidity.Due to its special properties, the product protects the mucous membrane of the esophagus from attack by acids with a barrier effect.This promotes regeneration and helps prevent the risk of reflux esophagitis recurring.The special formulation promotes a quick effect.

Application instructions

Adults and children over 12 years old can take 2 or 4 tablets after meals and at bedtime.The tablets must be chewed thoroughly.After ingestion you can rinse with water.
