Folic acid STADA 5 mg tablets are used to treat folic acid deficiencies that cannot be corrected by diet. They contain the active substance folic acid. The recommended dose is 1 to 3 tablets per day, depending on the need. The tablets should be taken unchewed at mealtimes with sufficient liquid. The duration of use depends on the extent of the folic acid deficiency and is determined by the doctor. The tablets should be protected from moisture and stored in the dark. Side effects may include allergic reactions, reddening of the skin, itching, nausea and other gastrointestinal complaints. In case of overdose, bitter taste, loss of appetite, nausea, flatulence, agitation and depression may occur. The tablets contain other ingredients such as cellulose powder, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide and talc. Use during pregnancy and breast-feeding should be discussed with the doctor. People with hypersensitivity to the ingredients and specific anaemia should not use the medicine.
