Folgamma® for the treatment of folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiency

Folgamma® is a combination of the active ingredients vitamin B12 and folic acid.This preparation is particularly suitable for treating folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiencies.No prescription is required for this product.

Folic acid plays an important role in blood formation, the production of red and white blood cells, as well as in the growth and reproduction of our cells.It is essential for all development and renewal processes in our body, especially for the healthy development of a baby in the womb.In order for folic acid to work optimally, it needs vitamin B12.It therefore makes sense to administer both active ingredients together.

A deficiency of folic acid and vitamin B12 can lead to increased homocysteine levels.Homocysteine is considered a risk factor for various diseases.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredients in Folgamma® tablets are folic acid with a dosage of 1.5 mg and cyanocobalamin with a dosage of 25 μg per tablet.

The other ingredients include polyethylene glycol 20,000, stearic acid, talc, magnesium stearate, calcium hydrogen phosphate, glucose and cellactose 80 (consisting of 75% lactose monohydrate and 25% cellulose powder).The preparation is gluten-free, but contains lactose.

Areas of application

Folgamma® tablets are used in cases of proven combined folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiency that cannot be corrected through nutrition.They are also suitable for folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiencies due to absorption disorders for various reasons.

Dosage

If there is a proven combined folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiency that cannot be corrected through diet, it is recommended to take one tablet once a day.

In the case of folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiency due to absorption disorders due to various causes, the dosage can be increased to one to two tablets three times a day.The tablets should be taken with some liquid.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to individual ingredients, Folgamma® should not be used.
