Vividrin Azelastine Combination Pack is a medicine containing the active ingredient azelastine hydrochloride and is used to treat seasonal allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, such as hay fever combined with allergic conjunctivitis, in adults, adolescents and children aged 6 years and over. Azelastine is an antihistamine that reduces inflammation in the eyes and nose by blocking the action of histamine, which is released during an allergic reaction. The medicine is available as a combination pack containing eye drops and nasal spray. The eye drops relieve symptoms such as burning eyes and the nasal spray relieves allergic reactions and inhibits inflammation. The dosage for children 6 years and older and adults is 1 drop or 1 spray per eye or nostril, twice daily. It should be used as directed by the doctor and the duration of treatment should not exceed 6 weeks for the eye drops and until the symptoms have subsided for the nasal spray. The medicine may cause side effects such as irritation of the eye or nose. It contains benzalkonium chloride and has several contraindications, so it should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist before use. It should be stored at room temperature, protected from heat and frost and kept in the dark.
