octenident® antiseptic is an antiseptic mouthwash solution that has antimicrobial effectiveness.It is used to temporarily reduce the number of bacteria in the oral cavity, to inhibit plaque formation and in adults who have limited oral hygiene abilities, for example when brushing their teeth is not possible.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The mouthwash solution contains the active ingredient octenidine dihydrochloride.One milliliter of the solution contains 1 milligram of octenidine dihydrochloride.Other ingredients include glycerol 85%, sodium D-gluconate, citric acid, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dihydrate, macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, sucralose, purified water and mint cool flavor containing propylene glycol.

Area of application

octenident® antiseptic is used to temporarily reduce the number of germs in the oral cavity, to temporarily inhibit plaque formation and in adults with limited oral hygiene abilities.The solution works in just 30 seconds and fights plaque, the main cause of gum inflammation and periodontitis.It has a broad spectrum of activity, including gram-negative bacteria, and can also be used during pregnancy.The mouthwash solution is alcohol-free and has a mint flavor.

Dosage and application

The solution is used twice a day after meals and brushing your teeth.To do this, fill 10 milliliters into the measuring cup provided.If you use the solution immediately after brushing your teeth, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water before using octenident® antiseptic.Rinse your mouth thoroughly for about 30 seconds and then spit out the solution.The solution should not be swallowed.Do not rinse your mouth with water immediately afterwards.Do not use the mouthwash solution for more than five days in a row.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, octenident® antiseptic should not be used.The product is only intended for superficial use in the oral cavity and must not be inserted deep into the tissue.It should not be used to irrigate periodontal pockets, root canals, or cavities after dental surgery.

Patient information

octenident® antiseptic is only intended for rinsing in the mouth and should not be swallowed.Avoid contact with eyes.In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately and thoroughly with water.Temporary discoloration of the tongue may occur, which disappears after treatment is stopped.There may also be discoloration of the teeth, which can be removed.Children and adolescents should not use the solution as it has not yet been studied in this age group.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask for advice before using octenident® antiseptic.
