Directions for use of Doppelherz aktiv Sodbrennen akut+protect Chewable Tablets: - Product properties: Doppelherz aktiv Sodbrennen akut+protect chewable tablets are used for the treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux. They relieve associated symptoms such as heartburn, heartburn during pregnancy, reflux oesophagitis, acid regurgitation, indigestion, nocturnal reflux symptoms, cough and inflammation of the larynx and pharynx. - Mechanism of action: The effect of Doppelherz aktiv Sodbrennen akut+protect is based on sodium alginate and carbonates. It forms a gel that creates a protective layer in the stomach and prevents the gastric juice from flowing back into the oesophagus. Bicarbonate reduces the acidity of the stomach and thus protects the mucous membrane of the oesophagus from further damage. - Directions for use: Adults and children over 12 years of age should chew 2-4 tablets thoroughly after meals and before bedtime, rinsing with water if necessary. - Warnings: The product should not be used after the expiry date. It should not be taken in cases of severe renal insufficiency or hypersensitivity to the ingredients. If side effects occur, treatment should be stopped and a doctor consulted. It may interfere with the absorption of oral medicines and may cause flatulence.
