Dolormin® Extra for pain and fever

Dolormin® Extra is a pain-relieving, fever-reducing and anti-inflammatory medicine.It is used for the symptomatic short-term treatment of mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches and period pains as well as fever.The product is suitable for children weighing 20 kg or more (6 years and older), teenagers and adults.

Active ingredient

The active ingredient in Dolormin® Extra is ibuprofen, specifically as ibuprofen-DL-lysine (1:1).Ibuprofen belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and has pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory and fever-reducing effects.The combination with lysine improves solubility and accelerates the onset of action.

Areas of application

Dolormin® Extra is used to treat mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches and period pains, as well as to reduce fever.It is suitable for children aged 6 and over, teenagers and adults.

Dosage and application

The dosage of Dolormin® Extra depends on body weight and age:

Children 6-9 years old (20-29 kg): 1/2 tablet (200 mg ibuprofen) 1-3 times a day, maximum daily dose 600 mg.

Children 10-11 years old (30-39 kg): 1/2 tablet (200 mg ibuprofen) 1-4 times a day, maximum daily dose 800 mg.

Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults (over 40 kg): 1/2-1 tablet (200-400 mg ibuprofen) 1-4 times daily, maximum daily dose 1200 mg.

The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid.If you have a sensitive stomach, they can be taken with meals.The dosing interval should not be less than 6 hours.

Mode of action

Ibuprofen inhibits the production of prostaglandins, which are involved in mediating pain, inflammation and fever.By inhibiting these messenger substances, pain is relieved, inflammation is reduced and fever is reduced.

Other components

In addition to the active ingredient ibuprofen, Dolormin® Extra contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, povidone (K 30), magnesium stearate (vegetable), titanium dioxide, hydroxypropylcellulose and hypromellose.

Contraindications

Dolormin® Extra must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, stomach or intestinal ulcers, bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe, uncontrolled heart problems, in the last trimester of pregnancy and in children under 6 years of age.

Side effects

Possible side effects include gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, bloating, diarrhea, constipation and abdominal pain.Other possible side effects include headache, dizziness, insomnia, fatigue, irritability, agitation, skin hypersensitivity, shortness of breath and visual disturbances.

Instructions for use

Dolormin® Extra should not be used for longer than 3 days if you have a fever or 4 days if you have pain without medical advice.If symptoms persist or worsen, a doctor should be consulted.Reactivity may be impaired, particularly at higher doses or in combination with alcohol.Caution is advised in patients with nasal polyps, chronic respiratory infections, asthma or allergic reactions.

Storage

The medicine should be stored away from heat.
