Voltaren pain gel is a non-prescription product that is used for the symptomatic treatment of pain.The active ingredient diclofenac-N-ethylethanamine has a pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory effect and promotes healing.The gel is suitable for adults and teenagers aged 14 and over.

Areas of application

Voltaren pain gel is used for:

Acute muscle pain, for example in the back area.Strains, sprains and bruises caused by blunt trauma, such as sports and accidental injuries.Pain in the soft tissues near the joints, such as bursa, tendons, tendon sheaths, ligaments, muscle attachments and joint capsules, in osteoarthritis of the knee and finger joints.Epicondylitis, also known as tennis elbow or golfer's elbow.In adolescents aged 14 and over, the gel is used for the short-term treatment of pain from acute bruises, strains or sprains.

Mode of action

The active ingredient diclofenac penetrates directly into the painful area and prevents the formation of messenger substances that are involved in the transmission of pain and the formation of inflammation.This means that the gel has a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect.The pain-relieving effect lasts up to 6 hours.Voltaren pain gel is quickly absorbed, cools and is not greasy.

Dosage and application

Apply Voltaren pain gel three to four times a day, depending on the severity of the pain.The amount should be the size of a cherry to a walnut, depending on the size of the area to be treated.Rub the gel lightly and then wash your hands.Allow the creamed area to absorb before covering it with clothing.The gel can be used for up to three weeks.If the symptoms do not improve or allergic skin reactions occur, consult a doctor.

Composition

Active ingredient: Diclofenac-N-ethylethanamine 11.6 mg/g.

Other ingredients: Purified water, 2-propanol, propylene glycol, cocoyl caprylocaprate (Ph.Eur.), paraffin, cetomacrogol, carbomer 974 P, N-ethylethanamine, perfume cream (contains benzyl benzoate).

Warnings

Contains propylene glycol and fragrances.The product is not suitable for children and young people under 14 years of age.Do not apply the ointment to open injuries, infections of the skin or mucous membranes.
