The active ingredients in Ossofortin forte are calcium carbonate and colecalciferol (vitamin D3).One effervescent tablet contains 1500 mg of calcium carbonate, which corresponds to 600 mg of calcium ions, and 4 mg of colecalciferol dry concentrate, which corresponds to 400 international units of vitamin D3.Excipients include alpha-tocopherol, malic acid, citric acid, anhydrous, gelatin, corn starch, maltodextrin, sodium carbonate, sodium cyclamate, sodium bicarbonate, saccharin sodium, sucrose, partially hydrogenated soybean oil and lemon flavor.

Contraindications

Dosage

Adults take 1 effervescent tablet twice a day (1 effervescent tablet each morning and evening, corresponding to 1,200 mg calcium and 800 IU vitamin D3).The effervescent tablet is dissolved in a glass of water (approx. 200 ml) and drunk immediately.You can take the medicine with food or between meals.It should be taken long-term.Talk to your doctor about how long you should take the medicine.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.During long-term treatment with the product, your doctor must check blood calcium levels and monitor kidney function by measuring serum creatinine levels.This is particularly important in older patients and in patients who are also receiving certain medicines that increase heart strength (cardiac glycosides) or water-inducing medicines (diuretics).If too high a calcium level in the blood occurs (hypercalcemia) or signs of kidney dysfunction, the dose must be reduced or the intake must be stopped.

Pregnancy
