Ferro sanol duodenal mite is an oral iron supplement used to treat iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia.It is particularly suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over with a minimum weight of 20 kg.It is also useful during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with a low-iron diet and after acute and chronic blood loss.

Active ingredient and ingredients

The active ingredient in ferro sanol duodenal mite is iron (II) glycine sulfate complex.Each enteric-coated hard capsule contains 283.83 mg ferrous glycine sulfate complex, equivalent to 50 mg ferrous ion.The other ingredients include methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer, microcrystalline cellulose, ascorbic acid, talc, triethyl (2-acetoxypropane-1,2,3-tricarboxylate), hyprolose, hypromellose, polysorbate 80, sodium dodecyl sulfate, gelatin, titanium dioxide, iron (III) oxide, iron oxide hydrate and iron(II,III) oxide.

Areas of application

Ferro sanol duodenal mite is used for iron deficiency, especially iron deficiency anemia, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, in childhood, with a low-iron diet and after chronic and acute blood loss.

Dosage and application

The usual dosage for adults and children aged 6 and over with a body weight of at least 20 kg is one hard capsule daily.If there is a severe iron deficiency, adults and adolescents aged 15 and over or with a body weight of 50 kg can take 2 to 3 hard capsules daily in the initial phase.The capsules should be taken whole with sufficient water, either in the morning on an empty stomach or at a sufficient distance from meals.The duration of use is determined by the doctor and can be between 3 and 6 months.

Storage

Ferro sanol duodenal mite should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C and kept out of the reach of children.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the pack.

Contraindications

Ferro sanol duodenal mite must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients, anemia with iron utilization disorder, hemochromatosis, hemolytic anemia, inflammation of the gastric mucosa, ulcers in the digestive tract and inflammatory bowel diseases.Children under 6 years of age or weighing less than 20 kg should not take the medicine.

Side effects

Possible side effects include gastrointestinal complaints such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea and constipation, as well as a harmless black discoloration of the stool.

Important notes

No prescription is required for this product.Please note that ferro sanol duodenal mite should be taken with caution in cases of liver dysfunction and alcoholism.In chronic kidney disease requiring erythropoietin, iron should be administered intravenously.
