What is Milgamma Mono 50 and what is it used for?

Milgamma Mono 50 is a vitamin preparation that contains the active ingredient benfotiamine.It is used for the treatment or prophylaxis of clinical vitamin B1 deficiencies if these cannot be remedied through nutrition.The active ingredient benfotiamine is a fat-soluble precursor of vitamin B1 and is very well absorbed in the body and quickly converted into its effective form.Vitamin B1 is essential for the functioning of the nervous system and plays an important role in carbohydrate metabolism.

Areas of application

Milgamma Mono 50 is used to prevent and treat vitamin B1 deficiency.These can occur with malnutrition and malnutrition, parenteral nutrition over a long period of time, zero diet, hemodialysis, malabsorption, chronic alcoholism, increased needs (e.g. pregnancy and breastfeeding).It is also used to treat neuropathies and cardiovascular disorders caused by vitamin B1 deficiency.

Dosage and instructions for use

Milgamma Mono 50 should always be taken exactly according to the instructions in the package leaflet.To prevent vitamin B1 deficiency, it is recommended to take a coated tablet 1-3 times a day.To treat a vitamin B1 deficiency, 1-2 coated tablets should be taken 3 times a day.For certain nerve diseases (polyneuropathies) that can be caused by vitamin B1 deficiency, it is initially recommended to take 3 coated tablets at least 2 times a day, in special cases 3 times a day for a period of at least 3 weeks, followed by further treatment with 1-2 coated tablets 3 times a day.

The coated tablets should be swallowed whole with a little liquid.The duration of intake depends on the therapeutic success.For the treatment of neuropathies, Milgamma Mono 50 should initially be taken for a period of at least 3 weeks.Further treatment should then be carried out according to therapeutic success.

Contraindications

Milgamma Mono 50 must not be taken if you are allergic to the active ingredient benfotiamine or to thiamine or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medicine should only be taken after consultation with a doctor or pharmacist.

Side effects

Possible side effects may include hypersensitivity, hives (urticaria), skin rash, gastrointestinal disorder, nausea, and gastrointestinal distress.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition

One coated tablet of Milgamma Mono 50 contains 50.0 mg of benfotiamine as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are: Core: corn starch, sucrose, gelatin, talc, stearic acid, magnesium stearate.Shell: Sucrose, talc, calcium carbonate, titanium dioxide, white clay, arabic gum, colloidal silica, corn starch, macrogol 6000, montan glycol wax, povidone K25, carmellose sodium, glucose syrup, macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, sodium dodecyl sulfate.The preparation is gluten-free and does not contain lactose.

Storage

Keep medicines out of the reach of children.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the container.The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.Milgamma Mono 50 should not be stored above 30°C.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only take Milgamma Mono 50 after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended vitamin B1 intake during pregnancy and breastfeeding is 1.4-2.3 mg. Vitamin B1 is excreted in breast milk.The medicine should only be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding if a significant vitamin B1 deficiency has been proven.
