Instructions for use for BABYLAX Enema, 6 pcs

What is Babylax and what is it used for?

Babylax is a laxative used for the symptomatic treatment of constipation and constipation in infants and children of all ages.It is particularly useful when changing your diet or dietary measures alone have no effect. The active ingredient glycerol 85% stimulates mucus production after introduction into the rectum, thereby increasing the gliding properties of the stool. It also causes increased water absorption in the intestines, which leads to softening of the stool and an increase in volume, which reflexively results in defecation.

Areas of application

Babylax is used for the symptomatic treatment of constipation and intestinal constipation in infants and children of all ages, especially when other measures such as dietary changes or diet alone are not sufficient.

Dosage and application

Babylax should always be used exactly as directed. If necessary, the contents of 1/2 to 1 rectiole for infants, 1 rectiole for small children and 1 to 2 rectiole for school children are given into the rectum. It should be used shortly before the intended bowel movement. Before use, remove the cap, press the spike into the tip of the neck of the rectiole and, if necessary, grease the neck of the rectiole with a skin cream. Then insert the rectiol neck into the anus and empty the filling body by squeezing it vigorously. When pulling out the rectiole, leave the packing compressed so that the active ingredient cannot be sucked back in.If only half a rectiole is to be used, half of the rectal solution must be squeezed out and discarded beforehand.

Duration of application

Long-term use of laxatives is not recommended as this cannot eliminate the cause of constipation. The duration of use should be as short as possible and should only be a few days.If symptoms persist for a long time, a doctor should be consulted.

Composition

The active ingredient is glycerol 85%.1 mini enema (rectiole) with 3.6g rectal solution contains 1.8g glycerol 85%.The other ingredients are benzalkonium chloride, macrogol 400, carbomer (viscosity 29400-39400 mPa s), sodium edetate (Ph. Eur.), sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment) and purified water.

Contraindications

Babylax must not be used if you are hypersensitive to glycerol or any of the other ingredients or if you have intestinal obstruction.Adults should generally not use the medicine as there are preparations that are more suitable in terms of active ingredient strength and/or dosage form.

Side effects

There are currently no known side effects for Babylax. However, benzalkonium chloride can cause local irritation. If you experience any discomfort or changes during treatment, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Important notes

Laxative medicines should only be used for a short time without a doctor's recommendation.Long-term use can lead to chronic constipation and other problems. If there is no success after short-term use, a doctor or pharmacist should be contacted.Laxatives are not suitable for weight loss.
