Biatain Super self-adhesive dressing is specially designed for heavily exuding wounds.The bandage promotes a moist wound environment that ensures optimal healing.It is a complete and easy-to-use wound dressing measuring 12.5x12.5 cm.The product variant is called 4612.

Usage

Biatain Super can be used on various types of exuding wounds including leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot syndrome, second degree burns, post-operative wounds and skin abrasions.The bandage is also suitable for use under compression therapy.

Composition

Biatain Super consists of a highly absorbent hydrocapillary wound pad that is provided with a semi-permeable, water- and bacteria-proof top film.The dressing also contains a hydrocolloid component for adhesion and a non-adhesive wound contact layer.These components enable rapid absorption, distribution and storage of wound exudate, minimizing the risk of maceration and leakage.

Mode of action

Superabsorbent particles in the wound pad absorb and store large amounts of wound exudate.Fibers distribute exudate throughout the wound pad, maximizing absorption.The high permeability to water vapor contributes to excellent wound exudate management.
