Maaloxan 25 mVal chewable tablets are an agent for binding excess stomach acid.The chewable tablets contain the active ingredients algeldrat and magnesium hydroxide.Algeldrat, also known as aluminum hydroxide gel, together with magnesium hydroxide forms an effective combination for neutralizing stomach acid.These active ingredients form poorly soluble salts with stomach acid, which are excreted in the stool.This relieves pain and discomfort caused by excess stomach acid.

Maaloxan 25 mVal chewable tablets are used for the symptomatic treatment of diseases in which stomach acid needs to be bound.These include heartburn and acid-related stomach problems as well as stomach or duodenal ulcers (ventricular ulcer or duodenal ulcer).

Application and dosage

Always take Maaloxan 25 mVal chewable tablets exactly as described in the package leaflet or after consulting your doctor.The usual adult dose for stomach and duodenal ulcers is 1 to 2 chewable tablets 1 to 2 hours after each meal and immediately before bedtime.The daily dose should not exceed 4 to 6 chewable tablets, which corresponds to a neutralization capacity of 100 to 150 mVal of hydrochloric acid.

If you have heartburn and acid-related stomach problems, you can take a chewable tablet several times a day if necessary.Chew the tablets as well as possible to optimize the effect.

Other medicines should generally be taken at least two hours before or after taking Maaloxan 25 mVal chewable tablets.Taking stomach acid-binding medicines is not recommended during treatment with certain antibiotics such as tetracyclines and quinolones.

The duration of use depends on the type and severity as well as the course of the disease.If symptoms persist for more than two weeks, you should consult a doctor.

Composition

The active ingredients in Maaloxan 25 mVal chewable tablets are algeldrat and magnesium hydroxide.One chewable tablet contains 400 mg Algeldrat, corresponding to 200 mg aluminum oxide, and 400 mg magnesium hydroxide, which corresponds to a neutralization capacity of approximately 25 mVal hydrochloric acid.

The other ingredients are mannitol, sorbitol, saccharin sodium, potato starch, mint flavor, magnesium stearate (vegetable) and sucrose.

Storage

Keep Maaloxan 25 mVal chewable tablets out of the reach of children.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and blister pack.After opening the HDPE-bottle, the medicine has a shelf life of 6 months.Store the medicine away from moisture.
