Instructions for use of Bepanthen eye and nose ointment

Bepanthen eye and nose ointment contains the active ingredient dexpanthenol.This active ingredient supports healing of superficial, slight skin damage to the conjunctiva, cornea or nasal mucosa.The ointment is particularly suitable for dry, cracked or sore nasal mucosa as well as for stressed conjunctiva or damage to the cornea in the eye.

No prescription is required for this product.

In addition to dexpanthenol, the ointment contains the following other ingredients: Rac-(3R)-3-hydroxy-4,4-dimethyloxolan-2-one, wool wax, thick paraffin, white petroleum jelly and purified water.Please note that the product contains wool wax, which may cause skin irritation in some people.

Application and dosage

For use on the eye: Using the cannula, spread a strand of the ointment about one centimeter long into the conjunctival sac of the irritated eye.For small children and infants, use a little less ointment.Repeat the treatment several times a day.Do not use the ointment for more than a week.If your condition worsens or does not improve after four days, please see a doctor.

For use in the nose: Apply a strand of ointment to the nasal mucosa.This should be approximately one centimeter long, correspondingly less for infants and small children.Massage the ointment in by pressing the nostrils.Do not use the ointment on the eye after using it in the nose.Do not use the ointment for more than four weeks.Seek medical attention if you notice your symptoms worsening or no improvement after a week.
