Description

Comfort Shield Mds eye drops provide a sterile, preservative-free and viscoelastic protective shield for the cornea.They are clear and provide long-lasting moisturization and lubrication of the surface of the eye.In doing so, they relieve dry eye symptoms that can be caused by various causes, such as:

Keratoconjunctivitis sicca, also known as Sjögren's syndrome, corneal injuries or erosions, surgical procedures on the cornea, wearing contact lenses, side effects of medication, hormonal disorders or menopause, influences such as air conditioning, wind, cold, dry heat, dust, smoke or air pollution, working on a computer, long car journeys or long-haul flights, swimming in water containing chlorine.

Application

To use the eye drops, squeeze the bottle to instill a drop directly onto the eye or contact lens.By lightly massaging the eyelids with the eyelids closed, the product will spread more quickly over the surface of the eye.The eye drops can be used as often as necessary to relieve pain and discomfort.They are compatible with all contact lenses.

Notes

Do not use the bottle if the safety tab is damaged.Avoid contacting the opening of the bottle with other surfaces or hands to avoid contamination.Tear off the safety tab on the bottle before first use.Remove the protective cap and close the bottle again with the protective cap after use.Dispose of the bottle with household waste.

Ingredients

Based on 1 milliliter, the eye drops contain disodium hydrogen phosphate, 1.5 mg hylan A (from bacterial fermentation), sodium chloride, sodium dihydrogen phosphate and water for injections.

Mode of action

Comfort Shield eye drops mimic the behavior of natural tears.When the eye is open, the high viscosity guarantees stable tear film formation.When you blink, the low viscosity ensures good gliding properties and even distribution of the tear film, without causing the familiar streaking and blurred vision after instillation.This excellent effectiveness without visual compromise is achieved by using a low concentration of Hylan A, an extremely high molecular weight hyaluronic acid.

Despite the high viscosity when the eye is open, the eye drops are immediately distributed evenly over the surface of the cornea when you blink and do not lead to streaky vision.The drop in viscosity under the influence of the shearing forces of the eyelid protects the sensitive surface of irritated eyes when blinking.

Comfort Shield eye drops are preservative-free and available in a 10 ml bottle (Comfort Shield MDS) and in sealable disposable doses (Comfort Shield SD).The 10 ml bottle contains around 300 drops and can be used for six months after opening.

The use of hyaluronic acid with very long molecular chains can be recognized by the formation of threads when holding a drop between the fingers and moving the fingers apart, as well as by the slow drainage on an inclined plate.

Comfort Shield eye drops can be used universally to treat irritations of the ocular surface and offer particular help with chronic inflammation and severe dry eye, such as injuries, recurrent erosions, surgical procedures involving the cornea and conjunctiva, rheumatic diseases involving the eye such as Sjögren's syndrome, allergic diseases involving the ocular surface, chronic inflammation of the ocular surface such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Lyell syndrome or trachoma, as well as hormonal disorders such asMenopause.
