Olynth® 0.1% cold dosage spray contains the long-proven active ingredient xylometazoline.Used as a nasal spray, it causes the blood vessels in the nasal mucosa to constrict and causes them to decrease within 2 minutes.Olynth makes it easier to breathe through the nose and helps to reduce the feeling of pressure in the head caused by a blocked nose.Since the decongestant effect of Olynth® also facilitates the drainage of secretions from the paranasal sinuses, it is also suitable for supporting treatment of sinusitis (sinusitis) or middle ear infection (otitis media).

Area of application

Olynth E 0.1% nasal spray dosage spray is used to reduce the swelling of the nasal mucosa in the event of a runny nose, runny nose or allergic rhinitis.Furthermore, the drainage of secretions is made easier in the case of inflammation of the paranasal sinuses and catarrh of the tubal middle ear in conjunction with a runny nose.With Olynth E 0.1% nasal spray dosing spray, patients can breathe more freely through their nose again and the discharge of secretions decreases.Eye irritation is reduced.Olynth E 0.1% nasal spray dosing spray is suitable for both adults and school children.

Mode of action

The active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride contained in Olynth E 0.1% nasal spray dosing spray has vasoconstricting properties by constricting the veins of the mucous membrane.This reduces the excessive blood flow to the nose, causing the mucous membrane to swell.

1 ml Olynth E 0.1% nasal spray contains 1 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride.Other ingredients are benzalkonium chloride solution, sodium edetate (Ph. Eur.), sodium chloride, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dihydrate (Ph. Eur.), sorbitol solution 70% (non-crystallizing) (Ph. Eur.) and purified water.

Dosage

When using Olynth E 0.1% nasal spray dosing spray for the first time, pump it vigorously several times until a fine spray mist is created.Before using Olynth E 0.1% nasal spray dosing spray, clean your nose by blowing your nose vigorously.Unless otherwise prescribed, adults and school children spray 1 spray of Olynth E 0.1% nasal spray dosing spray into each nostril up to 3 times a day as needed.Breathe in gently through your nose while spraying.Wipe the nasal tube carefully after use to avoid virus accumulation.The last application of the day should ideally be before going to bed.The duration of use must not exceed 7 days.

Application

First remove the protective cap.Before using it for the first time, the spray mechanism must be activated several times until an even spray mist emerges.This step does not need to be repeated for further applications.Blow your nose before use.Insert the spray opening into the nostril and press the spray head once.Breathe lightly through your nose.Repeat the process on the other side if necessary.For hygiene reasons, wipe the spray head after each use and put the protective cap back on.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should consult your doctor before using Olynth E 0.1% nasal spray dosing spray, as there is currently insufficient reliable information regarding possible side effects of the product.

Notes

For hygiene reasons and to avoid virus transmission, a dosing spray bottle should only be used by one and the same person.Long-term use of Olynth E 0.1% nasal spray should only be carried out under medical supervision.
