Trehalose: Protection for conjunctiva and calluses

A key active ingredient in Thealoz Duo is trehalose, a naturally occurring double sugar found in many living organisms.Trehalose forms a protective layer on the cell surfaces and thus protects the conjunctiva and cornea from the consequences of long-term dryness.Due to its high water-binding capacity, trehalose is also suitable as a natural ingredient for a tear substitute.

Hyaluronic acid: Effective against dry eyes

In addition to trehalose, Thealoz Duo eye drops contain hyaluronic acid, a polysaccharide that occurs almost everywhere in the body.Hyaluronic acid has a high ability to bind water, which makes it a good protector for the natural tear film and effectively protects the eyes from drying out.It also supports the regeneration of the cornea.

Application and tolerance

Thanks to the use of natural ingredients, Thealoz Duo eye drops are well tolerated.It can be used four to six times a day, one drop per eye.The eye drops can also be used when wearing contact lenses.No prescription is required for this product.

Thealoz Duo eye drops are used to moisten, lubricate and protect dry eyes.They can be used to treat moderate to severe dry eye symptoms.Because they are well tolerated, they are also suitable for contact lens wearers.

Mode of action

Thealoz Duo eye drops are based on an innovative combination of hyaluronic acid and trehalose in a hypotonic solution.Trehalose is a naturally occurring disaccharide with antioxidant, moisturizing and protective properties.It stabilizes the cell membranes and thus protects the cornea and conjunctiva from the consequences of dryness.The high water-binding power of Thealoz Duo forms a moistening and protective film on the cell membranes, which reduces the loss of membrane structure and cell death.The hyaluronic acid also moisturizes the surface of the eye, improves the tear film and promotes the regeneration of the cornea.

Active ingredients and ingredients

1 ml Thealoz Duo eye drops contains trehalose (3.0 g), sodium hyaluronate (0.15 g), sodium chloride, trometamol, hydrochloric acid to adjust the pH and water for injection purposes.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, the product should not be used.

Dosage

Recommended use: Put one drop in each eye 4-6 times a day.Make sure there is no contact between the dropper tip and the eye or eyelid.

Notes

There are more than 300 drops in a bottle of Thealoz Duo eye drops.In rare cases, slight eye irritation may occur.Thealoz Duo eye drops should be kept out of the reach of children.

The patented ABAK® system combines the advantage of being free of preservatives with the easy handling of a conventional dropper bottle.Thealoz Duo in the ABAK® system is unpreserved, phosphate-free and very well tolerated.It is therefore also ideal for long-term use and use after eye surgery or LASIK.

Application and handling

Wash your hands thoroughly before use and avoid any contact with the drip opening with your fingers or eyes.Twist the cap off the top of the bottle.Pull your eyelid down with one hand and look up.With your other hand, hold the dropper bottle vertically over your eye and place 1 drop into the conjunctival sac.Recap the bottle after each use.
