Area of application
Loratadine AL 10 mg tablets belong to the group of antihistamines and are used to treat the symptoms of certain allergic diseases that are associated with increased histamine release.The preparation is used to treat the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as hay fever, and chronic, idiopathic urticaria, i.e. hives of unknown cause.No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
The active ingredient is loratadine.One tablet contains 10 mg of loratadine.The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, corn starch and magnesium stearate.Contains lactose.
Contraindications
The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to loratadine or any of the other ingredients.The medicine must not be used in infants and small children under 2 years of age.Children weighing less than 30 kg should generally not use the medicine.Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Dosage
Always take the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: Adults and children over 12 years of age take 1 tablet once a day (corresponding to 10 mg of loratadine).Children aged 2 to 12 years with a body weight of over 30 kg also take 1 tablet once a day.If you weigh 30 kg or less, the 10 mg tablet is not suitable.For patients with severe liver damage, an initial dose of 1 tablet every other day is recommended.No dosage adjustment is necessary in elderly patients or in patients with renal insufficiency.
Intake
The tablet can be taken without regard to meals.Take the medicine with liquid, such as a glass of water.If you have taken more than you should, please contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.Overdose may cause drowsiness, rapid heartbeat and headache.If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.Take the missed tablet as soon as possible and then continue as recommended.
Patient information
Take special care when taking it if you suffer from severe liver impairment.If you plan to have a skin test, you should stop using the medicine at least 48 hours before it is done.In very rare cases, some people may experience dizziness, which may impair their ability to drive or use machines.It is advisable to wait for your individual reaction to taking the medicine before driving or using machines.
Pregnancy
No teratogenic effects of loratadine were found in animal studies.The safety of using loratadine during pregnancy has not been established.It is therefore not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy.Since loratadine passes into breast milk, it is not recommended to be used during breastfeeding.
