ASS AbZ Protect 100 mg gastro-resistant tablets contain the active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid.This medication is used to inhibit platelet aggregation to prevent blood clots from forming.It is available without a prescription.

Areas of application

ASS AbZ Protect 100 mg is used for unstable angina pectoris as part of standard therapy, for acute heart attacks also as part of standard therapy, to prevent another heart attack after the first heart attack, after operations or other interventions on arterial blood vessels and to prevent temporary insufficient blood flow in the brain and cerebral infarctions after precursor stages have occurred.It is not suitable for treating pain conditions.

Dosage and application

The recommended dosage is usually one tablet daily, except for preventing another heart attack, where three tablets daily is recommended.The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid before a meal.In the event of an acute heart attack, the first tablet should be bitten or chewed.The duration of use is determined by the attending physician.

Composition

Each tablet contains 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, highly disperse silicon dioxide, potato starch, talc, triacetin and methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) dispersion 30 %.

Storage

Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children and do not store it above 30°C.Store it in the original packaging to protect the contents from moisture.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and blister packs.

Side effects

Possible side effects include gastrointestinal symptoms such as heartburn, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain.Microbleeds and ulcers in the digestive tract may also occur.Skin hypersensitivity reactions are also possible.If side effects occur, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Contraindications

ASS AbZ Protect 100 mg should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, ulcers in the digestive tract, increased bleeding tendency, kidney failure and liver failure.Caution is advised in cases of bronchial asthma, heart failure, impaired kidney or liver function and a tendency to gout attacks.
