Areas of application

ASS ABZ Protect 100 mg is used to inhibit platelet aggregation.This means that platelets are prevented from sticking together and clumping together, thereby preventing the formation of blood clots.The product is used for:

Unstable angina pectoris as part of standard therapy, acute myocardial infarction as part of standard therapy, to prevent another heart attack after the first heart attack, after surgery or other interventions on arterial blood vessels, to prevent temporary cerebral insufficiency (TIA) and cerebral infarctions after precursor stages have occurred.

Note: ASS ABZ Protect 100 mg is not suitable for the treatment of pain conditions.

Mode of action

Acetylsalicylic acid acts as an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase.In addition to other effects, ASS ABZ Protect 100 mg irreversibly inhibits platelet aggregation, thus improving the flow properties of the blood and helping to prevent vascular occlusions.The tablets have a special coating so that the active ingredient is only released in the small intestine, which improves stomach tolerance.

Dosage and application

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

Dosage:

For unstable angina pectoris and acute heart attack, a daily dose of 1 enteric-coated tablet ASS ABZ Protect 100 mg (corresponding to 100 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day) is recommended.

To prevent another heart attack after the first heart attack, a daily dose of 3 gastro-resistant tablets ASS ABZ Protect 100 mg (equivalent to 300 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day) is recommended.

After operations or other interventions on arterial blood vessels, a daily dose of 1 enteric-coated tablet ASS ABZ Protect 100 mg (equivalent to 100 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day) is recommended.

To prevent temporary cerebral insufficiency (TIA) and cerebral infarctions, a daily dose of 1 enteric-coated tablet ASS ABZ Protect 100 mg (equivalent to 100 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day) is recommended.

Type of application:

Please take the enteric-coated tablets whole, preferably before a meal, with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water).To treat an acute heart attack, the first enteric-coated tablet should be bitten or chewed.

Duration of application:

ASS ABZ Protect 100 mg is intended for long-term use.The treating doctor decides on the duration of use.

Composition

Active ingredient: acetylsalicylic acid.Each enteric-coated tablet contains 100 mg of acetylsalicylic acid.

Other ingredients: Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide, potato starch, talc, triacetin, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) dispersion 30 %.

Storage

Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children.You must not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the outer carton and blister packs after “Use by”.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.Do not store above 30°C.Store in the original packaging to protect the contents from moisture.

Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater.Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.In doing so, you contribute to protecting the environment.
