Area of application

Candio-Hermal Cream is a yeast-specific antifungal.It is used for skin infections caused by nystatin-sensitive yeast, also known as candidiasis.Areas of application include fungal infections of the skin, body folds, lips, genital area, nails, hairy head, spaces between fingers and toes, external ear canal, as well as sores under the breast and diaper rash.

The active ingredient in Candio-Hermal cream is nystatin.Each 100 grams of cream contains 10 million international units of nystatin.The other ingredients are 2-phenoxyethanol (preservative), propylene glycol, octyldodecanol, polysorbate 80, emulsifying cetostearyl alcohol (type A), glycerol monostearate 40-55, sorbitan oleate and purified water.

Contraindications

Candio-Hermal cream must not be used if you are hypersensitive to nystatin, related active ingredients such as amphotericin B or natamycin, or any of the other ingredients of the cream.The drug should also not be used if you are hypersensitive to cetostearyl alcohol.If hypersensitivity occurs, such as itching or burning, use should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

Dosage

Always use Candio-Hermal Cream exactly as directed.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the cream is applied to the affected skin areas 2-3 times a day.In cases of apparent resistance to therapy or in severe cases, use can be made more frequently, even hourly.If you have any further questions about use, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

If you use more Candio-Hermal cream than you should, the side effects known for nystatin may occur.There are no known symptoms of poisoning.If you forget to use it, do not use a double dose, but continue using it normally at the next prescribed time.If the application is discontinued, it must be ensured that all fungal lesions are eliminated in order to avoid relapses.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using Candio-Hermal cream to avoid relapses.Therapy resistance is not the same as pathogen resistance and can be overcome through more frequent use and higher doses.No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.

Pregnancy

Before using Candio-Hermal cream, ask your doctor or pharmacist.At therapeutic doses, nystatin is hardly absorbed and does not cross the placental barrier.It is also not expected to pass into breast milk.Therefore, Candio-Hermal cream can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
