Cetirizine HEUMANN 10 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride.This medicine is an antiallergic drug and is used to relieve nasal and eye symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and to relieve hives (urticaria) in adults and children 6 years of age and older.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Cetirizine HEUMANN is used to treat allergic diseases.These include chronic hives with symptoms such as itching, hives and redness of the skin, neurodermatitis, chronic allergic rhinitis, hay fever with symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose, nasal congestion, redness or itching of the eyes and tearing, and for supportive treatment of allergic asthma.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride and 8.42 mg cetirizine.The other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate (vegetable), colloidal silicon dioxide, macrogol 400 and titanium dioxide (E 171).

Dosage and application

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age should take one film-coated tablet once daily.Children between 6 and 12 years should take half a tablet twice daily.Patients with kidney failure are advised to adjust the dose accordingly.The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of liquid and can be divided into equal doses.It can be taken regardless of meals.

Duration of intake

The duration of intake depends on the type, duration and course of the symptoms.For hay fever, 3-6 weeks are usually sufficient.In the case of allergic asthma, there is experience of up to 6 months.Experience with chronic hives and chronic allergic rhinitis has been reported for up to a year.For children aged 2 and over, the duration of use is usually 2-4 weeks.

Contraindications

Cetirizine HEUMANN must not be used if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients.The medicine should not be used if you have severe kidney disease.Infants and children under 2 years of age should not be treated with this medicine.

Side effects

Possible side effects include gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, tiredness, sleepiness, restlessness, sore throat, dry mouth, runny nose, abnormal sensations, skin hypersensitivity reactions such as itching and rash, malaise and general weakness.

Storage

Cetirizine HEUMANN should be kept out of the reach and reach of children.The medicine must not be used after the expiry date stated on the outer carton and blister pack.This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.
