Cetirizine HEUMANN film-coated tablets can be used for chronic allergic rhinitis, hay fever and chronic hives.The active ingredient cetirizine inhibits the effect of the body's own messenger histamine.This causes itching, redness and swelling to disappear.

Area of application

Cetirizine HEUMANN is indicated in adults and children 6 years of age and older for the relief of nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and for the relief of hives (urticaria).

Active ingredients and ingredients

Cetirizine HEUMANN 10 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride in a dosage of 10 mg per tablet.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 400, magnesium stearate (vegetable), highly disperse silicon dioxide and titanium dioxide.

Contraindications

Cetirizine HEUMANN 10 mg film-coated tablets must not be taken if you have severe kidney disease with a creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min or if you are allergic to cetirizine, one of the other ingredients of the drug, hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age should take one tablet once daily.Children between 6 and 12 years should take half a tablet twice daily.Patients with moderate kidney failure are recommended to take 5 mg cetirizine once daily.If you have severe kidney disease, the dose should be adjusted accordingly.

Intake

The tablets should be swallowed whole with a glass of liquid.Food has no effect on the absorption of cetirizine.The film-coated tablet can be divided into equal doses.
