Cetirizine STADA® 10 mg film-coated tablets

Cetirizine STADA® 10 mg film-coated tablets contain the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride.This medicine is an antiallergic drug and is used to relieve nasal and eye symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and to relieve chronic hives (chronic idiopathic urticaria).It is suitable for children aged 6 and over, teenagers and adults.

Areas of application

Cetirizine STADA® is used for the symptomatic treatment of allergic diseases such as hay fever.It relieves allergic nose and eye symptoms as well as chronic hives.The second generation antihistamine inhibits the binding of histamine to the H1 receptors and thus prevents histamine effects.This means it works quickly and reliably against allergic symptoms, including swollen nasal mucosa.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Cetirizine STADA® 10 mg film-coated tablets is cetirizine dihydrochloride.One film-coated tablet contains 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride.The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 400, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.), highly dispersed silicon dioxide and titanium dioxide (E 171).

Dosage and application

The recommended dose for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age is 10 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride once daily (as 1 tablet).Children between 6 and 12 years of age should take 5 mg of cetirizine dihydrochloride twice daily (as 1/2 tablet twice daily).Patients with moderate to severe kidney failure are recommended to take 5 mg once daily.The tablets should be taken whole with liquid, preferably in the evening.They can be taken with or without food and divided into equal doses.The duration of application depends on the type, duration and course of the symptoms.

Contraindications

Cetirizine STADA® must not be used if you are hypersensitive to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients.It should not be used for severe kidney disease.Infants and children under 2 years of age should not be treated with this medicine as there is insufficient experience.

Side effects

Possible side effects include gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, tiredness, sleepiness, restlessness, sore throat, dry mouth, runny nose, abnormal sensations, skin hypersensitivity reactions such as itching and rash, malaise and general weakness.

Storage

Keep Cetirizine STADA® out of the reach and reach of children.Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and blister pack.This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater.Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.Cetirizine STADA® contains lactose.Patients with intolerance to lactose should take this into account.There may be medicines with which interactions occur.You should therefore tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment with a new medicine that you are already using.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

During pregnancy and breastfeeding you should only take cetirizine STADA® after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.Although animal experiments have shown no evidence of fetal damage, use during pregnancy should be avoided as a precaution.Because cetirizine passes into breast milk, it should not be taken by nursing mothers.

Other

Although research shows that alcohol does not increase the effects, cetirizine should not be taken with alcohol.Patients who drive, work or operate machines without a secure footing are advised not to exceed the specified dose and to wait for the individual reaction to the medication.
