Cromo-Stulln UD is a medicine that is used to treat allergy-related conjunctivitis (conjunctivitis).The active ingredient sodium cromoglicate helps to relieve the allergic reaction in the eyes.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

Cromo-Stulln UD is used for allergic conjunctivitis, which can be triggered by various allergens such as pollen, house dust or fungal spores.It is suitable for both acute and chronic inflammation, such as those that occur with hay fever or spring catarrh.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The main active ingredient in Cromo-Stulln UD is sodium cromoglicate.Each milliliter of the eye drops contains 20.0 mg sodium cromoglicate.The preparation also contains the excipients hypromellose and water.

Contraindications

Cromo-Stulln UD must not be used if you are hypersensitive to sodium cromoglicate or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.If an allergic reaction to the drug is suspected, it should not be used.

Dosage and application

Children and adults should put one drop of Cromo-Stulln UD into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye four times a day.The contents of a one-dose container are sufficient for use in both eyes.The eye drops should be used immediately after opening and the remaining amount should be discarded.

Regular daily use is necessary as the drops do not have an immediate effect.Treatment should continue even after the symptoms have subsided, as long as you are exposed to the allergenic substances.The frequency of use can be reduced after consulting your doctor.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Cromo-Stulln UD can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.Occasionally, burning eyes, swelling of the conjunctiva, a feeling of a foreign body and increased blood flow to the conjunctiva can occur.These symptoms usually resolve spontaneously.If symptoms become more severe or if hypersensitivity is suspected, a doctor should be consulted.

Storage

The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and not stored above 25°C.It must not be used after the expiry date stated on the outer carton.The single-dose containers are intended for one use only and should be used immediately after opening.

Special Notes

If you wear contact lenses, you should remove them before instillation and only reinsert them 15 minutes later.The eye drops can impair vision for a few minutes immediately after use.You should therefore wait until the visual impairment has passed before driving or operating machines.

Before using Cromo-Stulln UD during pregnancy or breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.There is no evidence of a teratogenic effect, but the drug should only be used after a careful risk-benefit assessment.
