Dosage

Recommended use of Mucosolvan children's juice, cough solver with Ambroxol:

Due to the good tolerability of Mucosolvan children's juice, cough reliever with ambroxol, the preparation is already suitable for small children.As directed by a doctor, children under 2 years of age receive 1.25 ml of the solution twice a day, which corresponds to 15 mg of the active ingredient ambroxol.The enclosed measuring cup is used for dosage.This should be rinsed out with warm water after each intake.Children between 2 and 5 years of age receive 1.25 ml three times a day. For children between 6 and 12 years of age, the dose can be increased to 2.5 ml two to three times a day.

Adolescents over 12 years of age can also use Mucosolvan children's juice, a cough reliever with ambroxol, in the treatment of acute coughs with mucus formation.As a rule, they should take 5 ml three times a day.This corresponds to an amount of ambroxol of 90 mg.If mucus is particularly stubborn, the dose can be increased to 10 ml twice daily, which reaches the recommended maximum daily amount of 120 mg ambroxol.It can be taken with or without meals.Self-medication should not last longer than five days.

Particular caution is required when taking the drug in the following cases: Very rarely, severe skin symptoms such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome have been reported in connection with the use of substances with mucus-dissolving effects, such as ambroxol, which in most cases could be explained by the underlying disease or the accompanying medication.If changes to the skin or mucous membranes occur, medical advice should be sought immediately and, as a precaution, the use of Ambroxol should be stopped.

Patients with impaired kidney and liver function: If you suffer from impaired kidney function or severe liver disease, this medicine may only be used with particular caution, i.e. at longer intervals or in a reduced dose.In severe kidney failure, an accumulation of ambroxol breakdown products formed in the liver must be expected.In some rare diseases of the bronchi that are associated with excessive accumulation of secretions, such as:B. malignant cilia syndrome, this medicine should only be used under medical supervision because of a possible secretion blockage.

Pregnancy
