Area of application

The fungicide spray from Ratiopharm is suitable for fungal infections of the skin, especially on the feet and in skin folds.It is used for the external treatment of mycoses of the skin.Fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes, yeasts (e.g. Candida species), molds and others can manifest themselves as athlete's foot, fungal infections of the skin and skin folds, pityriasis versicolor or superficial yeast infections (candidiasis).

The pump spray is not suitable for use on mucous membranes or in the genital area.

Mode of action

Clotrimazole is a broadly effective antimycotic from the imidazole group.It inhibits crucial steps in the structure of the fungal cell membrane (ergosterol synthesis), destabilizes the membrane and thus leads to growth inhibition and the death of the pathogens.In the case of athlete's foot, the active ingredient penetrates the uppermost layers of skin, reduces the pathogen load and helps the itching, burning and redness subside.

Active ingredient: 10 mg clotrimazole.Excipients: (RS)-2-octyldodecan-1-ol, isopropyl alcohol, macrogol 400, sodium citrate 2-water, 566.67 mg propylene glycol, water, purified, 5 mg benzyl alcohol.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are allergic to clotrimazole or any of the other ingredients.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.The medicine is sprayed thinly onto the affected areas twice a day.Press the spray button 1 to 2 times each time you use it.This is sufficient even for large-scale fungal diseases.The spray distance should be 10 - 30 cm.

The duration of treatment varies and depends, among other things, on:depends on the extent and location of the disease.In order to achieve complete healing, treatment with the spray should not be stopped after the acute inflammatory symptoms or subjective complaints have subsided, but should be continued for a treatment period of at least 4 weeks.Pityriasis versicolor generally heals in 1-3 weeks.

Do not use a double dose if you have forgotten the previous application.For successful treatment, it is important that you stick to the intended duration of use, even if you already feel better.If not treated adequately, the fungal disease can spread or recur.

Intake

Before use, remove the transparent protective cap.Depending on the application location, the bottle can be held vertically downwards "upside down" or with the spray head upwards.When using for the first time, press the spray head several times until a fine spray mist is created.Spray the solution onto the affected skin areas.

When treating athlete's foot, the feet should be dried thoroughly after each washing, especially the spaces between the toes.
