LACTUFLOR is an oral solution containing lactulose as the active ingredient. It is used to treat constipation that cannot be sufficiently relieved by a high-fibre diet. In addition, LACTUFLOR facilitates bowel evacuation and softens stools in certain conditions such as painful anal symptoms. It can also be used to treat portocaval encephalopathy, a brain disorder caused by liver disease. There are some contraindications to the use of LACTUFLOR. It should not be taken in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, intestinal obstruction, inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases, fluid and salt disorders or disorders of sugar absorption. According to current knowledge, LACTUFLOR can be taken safely during pregnancy and lactation. The dosage of LACTUFLOR varies according to the age and complaints of the patient. The liquid is dissolved in water or warm drinks and taken. The duration of treatment depends on the individual conditions of the patient. Side effects such as gastrointestinal complaints (nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, flatulence) may occur when using LACTUFLOR .
