Directions for use of Vividrin anti-allergic eye drops: Vividrin anti-allergic eye drops contain the active ingredient sodium cromoglicate and are used to treat allergy-related acute and chronic conjunctivitis, such as hay fever conjunctivitis or spring catarrh. Before using the eye drops, some instructions should be observed. They must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to sodium cromoglicate or any of the other ingredients of the medicine. In the case of inflammation, including allergic conjunctivitis, ophthalmologists should be consulted to clarify whether contact lenses may continue to be worn. The dosage for children and adults is 1 drop four times daily into the conjunctival sac of both eyes. The application should be continued at least as long as one is exposed to the allergens (pollen, house dust, mould spores, etc.) after the symptoms have been relieved. No overdose symptoms are known. Possible side effects may include eye burning, conjunctival swelling, foreign body sensation and increased blood flow to the conjunctiva. In case of severe symptoms or suspected hypersensitivity, a doctor should be consulted. Use during pregnancy and lactation should be agreed with a doctor or pharmacist, as experience to date is not sufficient for a definitive assessment of the risk. The eye drops should be protected from children and should not be used for longer than 6 weeks after opening.
