Vividrin® anti-allergic eye drops - The gentle solution for allergic complaints
Vividrin® anti-allergic eye drops are a medicine that was specifically developed for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis.The active ingredient sodium cromoglicate has been proven for decades in relieving allergic symptoms such as watery and swollen eyes, redness, itching and sensitivity to light.Due to their good tolerability, the eye drops are also suitable for treating year-round complaints.

Mode of action
The active ingredient sodium cromoglicate in Vividrin® anti-allergic eye drops is used to treat allergic reactions and to relieve the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.Sodium cromoglicate is a mast cell stabilizer and inhibits the release of histamine and leukotrienes, which is helpful in various forms of conjunctivitis.

The ingredients of Vividrin® anti-allergic eye drops include the active ingredient sodium cromoglicate in a concentration of 20 mg/ml eye drops.The other ingredients are benzalkonium chloride, sodium edetate, polysorbate 80, sorbitol, sodium hydroxide solution (4%) for pH adjustment and water for injections.
Area of application
Vividrin® anti-allergic eye drops are used for allergy-related, acute and chronic conjunctivitis, such as hay fever, conjunctivitis or spring catarrh.The eye drops are suitable for adults and children and can also be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity reactions can occur to all medicines.If an allergy to the active ingredient or one of the other ingredients is already known, the medication must not be used.
Dosage
Adults and children should drip 1 drop into the conjunctival sac of both eyes 4 times daily.The daily dose can be increased up to 1 drop 6 times a day or even 1 drop 8 times a day.Once the therapeutic effect has been achieved, dosing intervals can be extended as long as freedom from symptoms is maintained.
Intake
The eye drops are intended for use on the eyes.Twist the protective cap off the tip of the bottle, being careful not to touch the drip tip with your fingers.Tilt your head back slightly, hold the bottle vertically over your eye and pull your lower eyelid down slightly.Then close your eye and move it slightly to the right and left to distribute the drop optimally.Repeat the application on the other eye and replace the screw cap after each application.
Patient information
Cromoglicic acid is only suitable for prevention and long-term treatment.Treatment should be continued for as long as you are exposed to the allergy-causing substances.The eye drops must not be used for longer than 6 weeks after opening.
Pregnancy
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, medications should only be taken after consultation with a doctor or pharmacist.After long-term use, no teratogenic effects have been observed in humans.The active ingredient cromoglicic acid disodium salt is only absorbed into breast milk in extremely small quantities, so there is probably no risk to the breastfed infant.
Notes
Vividrin® anti-allergic eye drops contain benzalkonium chloride.Please do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack.

Contact lens wearers
If you have allergic conjunctivitis, you should ask your ophthalmologist whether you can continue to wear contact lenses. If this is permitted, hard and soft contact lenses should be removed before instillation and not reinserted until at least 15 minutes later.
