Instructions for use for TERBINAFINHYDROCHLORID AL 10 mg/g cream, 15 g
Instructions for use of the article Terbinafine hydrochloride AL 10mg/g cream Important information (compulsory information): Terbinafine hydrochloride AL 10 mg/g cream. Active substance: terbinafine hydrochloride. Indications: For use against certain yeasts and skin fungi, of which athlete's foot is the best known. Warnings: Contains cetyl alcohol and cetylstearyl alcohol. For risks and side effects, read the leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist. What is terbinafine hydrochloride AL and what is it used for? Terbinafine hydrochloride AL contains the active substance "terbinafine hydrochloride" and belongs to a group of medicines for fungal diseases. This medicine is intended for the treatment of fungi and yeasts on the skin. How should terbinafine hydrochloride AL be used? Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. This medicine is for external use only. Before applying the cream, the skin must be carefully cleaned and dried. Apply just enough cream to cover the affected area of skin and its surroundings with a thin layer of cream. Rub it in gently. If the treated skin area is in a skin fold (under the breasts, between the toes or fingers, in the groin or between the buttocks), you should cover the skin with a sterile gauze, especially at night. If applying the cream is not for treating your hands, please wash your hands afterwards. Adults and adolescents (12 years and older): Duration and frequency of use: - Athlete's foot (tinea pedis): 1 time daily for 1 week. - Lichen (Tinea Corporis): 1 time daily for 1 week. - Skin fungus (cutaneous candidiasis): 1 time daily for 1 to 2 weeks. - Lichen (Pityriasis Versicolor): 1 to 2 times daily for 2 weeks. Generally, the symptoms improve after a few days. Irregular use or premature discontinuation of the treatment increases the likelihood that the symptoms will recur. If you do not notice any improvement after one to two weeks, please inform your doctor or pharmacist. Elderly people: There is no evidence that older patients require different dosages or experience different side effects than younger patients. Children: Terbinafine hydrochloride AL is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age because of limited experience in this age group. How should terbinafine hydrochloride AL be stored? Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. You must not use the medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the folding box and the tube after "Use by". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month. Store in the original packaging to protect the contents from light. Do not freeze. Keep the tube tightly closed. Terbinafine hydrochloride AL has a shelf life of 3 months after opening if stored properly. Do not dispose of medicines in waste water or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. You will be helping to protect the environment. What terbinafine hydrochloride AL contains The active substance is: terbinafine hydrochloride. 1 g cream contains 10 mg terbinafine hydrochloride. The other ingredients are: Benzyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol (Ph. Eur.), cetyl palmitate (Ph. Eur.), cetyl stearyl alcohol (Ph. Eur.), isopropyl myristate (Ph. Eur.), sodium hydroxide, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, purified water. Mode of action: The active substance damages the outer shell, the so-called cell membrane of fungi. This membrane thus loses some of its functions, e.g. it becomes more impermeable to nutrients - the cell starves. Depending on the concentration of the active ingredient, the fungi are inhibited in their growth and reproduction or they die directly due to additional damage to the cell interior. The active ingredient accumulates in the skin, hair and nails and unfolds its full effect there. Important information: Caution in case of allergy to antifungal agents (e.g. naftifine and terbinafine)! Emulsifiers (e.g. cetyl/stearyl alcohol) may cause skin irritations (e.g. contact dermatitis). Storage: The medicinal product must be protected from frost, protected from moisture (e.g. in a tightly closed container) and stored in the dark (e.g. in the outer carton). After opening/preparation, the medicinal product may be used for a maximum of 3 months and must be stored at room temperature, protected from moisture (e.g. in the tightly closed container) and in the dark (e.g. in the outer carton).
