Summary: Nystaderm film-coated tablets contain the active substance nystatin and are used to treat fungal infections in the gastrointestinal tract. In particular, they are used for infections that occur as a result of treatment with antibiotics, cytostatics or corticosteroids. The tablets should be taken unchewed with some liquid after meals. The recommended dosage is 1-2 tablets three times a day. The duration of treatment is usually two weeks or as long as the treatment with the promoting drugs is continued. Possible side effects are gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. The medicine must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to nystatin or any of the other ingredients. Nystaderm Film-Coated Tablets may be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding. There is no known impairment of the ability to drive or operate machinery. The effect and safety of the medicinal product may be improved by reporting side effects to the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices. The tablets should be stored at room temperature and away from children.
