Application and effect
Paracetamol BC 500mg tablets are used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever.The tablets are flat and smooth, making them easier to swallow, and have a score line for easy sharing.They are also lactose-free.
Active ingredients and ingredients
Each tablet contains 500 mg of the active ingredient paracetamol.The following excipients are also included: carboxymethyl starch, sodium salt type A, cellulose powder, corn starch, pre-gelatinized corn starch, highly disperse silicon dioxide, stearic acid and 23 mg sodium ions.
Contraindications
The product should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, in children under 4 years of age, or if you have liver, kidney or Meulengracht disease.
Dosage and intake
The tablets are swallowed whole with sufficient liquid.The dosage depends on body weight and age.For children between 4 and 8 years old, the single dose is 250 mg (½ tablet), with a maximum daily dose of 1000 mg (2 tablets).Children between 8 and 11 years of age also receive 250 mg per dose, up to a maximum of 1000 mg per day.Adolescents aged 11 years and over and adults can take 500 mg to 1000 mg per dose, with a maximum daily dose not exceeding 4000 mg (8 tablets).The interval between doses should be at least 6 hours.
Patient information
To avoid the risk of overdose, it should be ensured that no other medicines containing paracetamol are taken at the same time.If you have liver or kidney dysfunction, chronic alcohol abuse or certain forms of anemia, you should seek medical advice before taking it.It should not be taken for longer than 3 days without medical advice.Exceeding the recommended dose can cause serious liver damage.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
During pregnancy, paracetamol should only be taken after carefully weighing the benefit-risk ratio.Paracetamol passes into breast milk during breastfeeding, but no adverse effects on the child have been reported.
Notes
No prescription is required for this product.Children up to 12 years of age should use other dosage forms such as juice or suppositories.If you have pain or fever, do not use for longer than stated in the package leaflet without medical advice.
Ability to drive and use machines
Paracetamol has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.However, caution should always be exercised after taking painkillers.
Effects on laboratory tests
The determination of uric acid and blood sugar can be influenced.
