Allergodil® acute eye drops
Allergodil® acute eye drops provide a soothing eye solution for various allergies, including pollen allergy, hay fever and non-seasonal allergies.These eye drops are available without a prescription.
Areas of application
Allergodil® acute eye drops are used to treat and prevent eye problems caused by hay fever (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis) in adults and children aged 4 and over.They can also be used to treat eye problems caused by allergies to substances such as house dust mites and animal hair (non-seasonal allergic conjunctivitis) in adults and children aged 12 and over.
These eye drops relieve symptoms such as burning, red, itchy and watery eyes caused by seasonal allergies such as hay fever or pollen allergy, as well as non-seasonal allergies such as house dust and animal hair allergy.
Mode of action
Allergodil® acute eye drops contain the active ingredient azelastine hydrochloride, an antihistamine.Antihistamines prevent the effects of histamines that the body releases in connection with an allergic reaction.This relieves eye discomfort such as itching, redness, swelling and tears.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The active ingredient in Allergodil® acute eye drops is azelastine hydrochloride.One drop contains 0.015 mg of azelastine hydrochloride.
The other ingredients are benzalkonium chloride, sodium edetate, hypromellose, sorbitol solution (crystallizing) (E420i), sodium hydroxide (E524) and water for injections.
Contraindications
Allergodil® acute eye drops should not be used if there is a known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
Dosage
For use in eye problems caused by hay fever (seasonal allergic conjunctivitis), it is recommended to put one drop in each eye in the morning and evening for adults and children aged 4 years and over.If contact with flower pollen is expected, the usual dose can be used as a preventive measure before leaving the house.
For eye problems caused by an allergy (non-seasonal allergic conjunctivitis), it is recommended to give one drop in each eye morning and evening for adults and children aged 12 and over.If the symptoms are severe, the dose can be increased to one drop in each eye up to four times a day.
Gently pull the lower eyelid down with clean hands and carefully instill the drop into the center of the lower eyelid.Release your lower eyelid and press lightly against your nose from the inner corner of your eye.Blink slowly several times to spread the drop over the eyeball.Repeat the process for the other eye.
Relief from eye discomfort should begin after 15-30 minutes.
Intake
Allergodil® acute eye drops are intended for use on the eyes.
Patient information
Allergodil® acute eye drops contain the preservative benzalkonium chloride, which can discolor soft contact lenses.Contact with soft contact lenses should be avoided.Remove contact lenses before use and do not reinsert them until at least 15 minutes after instillation.
Pregnancy
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, medications should only be used after consultation with a doctor or pharmacist.
Notes
Keep Allergodil® acute eye drops out of the reach of children.Do not use the product longer than 4 weeks after opening the bottle.
