Magnetrans extra 243 mg hard capsules are used in cases of proven magnesium deficiency when it is the cause of muscle activity disorders such as muscle and calf cramps. Magnesium is involved in over 300 metabolic processes, so a deficiency can manifest itself in many ways. The dosage is one capsule daily for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age. The capsule is taken in the morning with breakfast and some liquid. A duration of use can be determined individually by the doctor. The medicinal product must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to magnesium oxide or other ingredients, in the case of severe kidney dysfunction, myasthenia gravis, a tendency to certain kidney stones, excitation conduction disorder between the atrium and the ventricle of the heart or considerable water and salt losses. Side effects may include soft stools, gastrointestinal discomfort, diarrhoea and fatigue.
